About the Exhibition

How does our body operate inside a museum? While moving through the exhibition halls gazing at works, visitors' bodies move within concentration and tension, yet the body rarely comes up when we talk about viewing art. Positioned like an interlude within the journey of viewing, this exhibition creates time to relax the tired body and refresh the senses, expanding the experience of viewing art beyond sight into hearing, touch, and smell. Somokjang Semi is an artist who has reinterpreted traditional somokjang (fine woodworking) techniques in a contemporary way, exploring everyday life, the body, and communal sensibility; in this exhibition, she imbues wooden sculptures and geometric patterns with universal values such as peace and coexistence. Through a process in which visitors move their own bodies or make sound together, the exhibition proposes a communal experience that breaks the museum's silence and connects visitors with one another.
