About the Exhibition

In the science-fiction novel 『The Giver』, the noise of emotion carried by the imperfect medium that is the human being obstructs the complete transmission of information. In the real world, however, humans have successfully shared memory with their communities by recording and storing information in external devices. Starting from this premise, this exhibition explores how contemporary media reorganize the culture of memory. Kwon Ahram, Kim Hyunsuk, Rosa Menkman, Sanghee, Yang Sukhyun, Exonemo, Cory Arcangel, the Michel Majerus Estate & Rhizome, and the ACC Sound Lab take part, exploring the relationship between human and machine, memory and storage, through a range of media.
