About the Exhibition

Museum SAN, operated by the Hansol Cultural Foundation, presents En attendant: Waiting, a solo exhibition by Korean contemporary artist Lee Bae, from April 7 to December 6, 2026. This is the first solo exhibition by a Korean artist since Museum SAN's opening, conveying an expanded experience and reflection to visitors through the artist's formal language — at once Korean and universal — grounded in the museum's founding philosophy of harmony among nature, art, and space. A large installation of stacked charcoal, Issu du Feu, is placed at the entrance of the Main Building, while the Cheongjo Gallery unfolds in sequence the brushstroke series Brushstroke, drawn with charcoal powder, the white spatial installation White, Black, which explores the black materiality of charcoal, and the video installation Becoming, filmed in the rice paddies of his hometown, Cheongdo. In the outdoor garden, six bronze Brushstroke sculptures, each about 10 meters tall, complete a landscape where nature, architecture, and space come together.
