About the Exhibition
This exhibition presents together the work of American artist Dorothy Iannone (1933-2022) and Colombian artist Alejandra Pombo Su (b. 1979). Its main subject is Iannone's drawing and text series The Berlin Beauties, made from 1977 to 1978. This series explores love, desire, and sexual bonds, emphasizing women's autonomy and sexual freedom, and was created after Iannone settled in Berlin. The exhibition is the first to present this series, and Alejandra Pombo Su presents drawings and a performance made especially for this exhibition. The exhibition comprises 70 drawings in total, with Iannone's work held in the collection of the Kupferstichkabinett (Museum of Prints and Drawings). Visitors can experience the multiple facets of women's identity and love through Iannone's works combining drawing and text and Alejandra Pombo Su's new drawings and performance.
