About the Exhibition

Marking a historic turning point with the launch of the integrated Jeonnam-Gwangju special city and the construction of a national AI data center, the Jeonnam Museum of Art presents 《Data Sapiens》. This exhibition looks at an era in which human wisdom and AI intelligence intersect, exploring a new relationship among humans, technology, and the world. Jeonnam is both a place that has long accumulated the wisdom of life through direct bodily experience of nature, and now a hub of future technology where a national AI data center is being built. The exhibition is organized into four sections. Starting from the questions about technology and humanity raised by Nam June Paik, it examines the process by which data becomes a new form of energy and environment, and explores the possibility of humans and AI shaping the future together through the audience's senses and participation. The 11 participating artists use AI as both a creative partner and a medium of experimentation, proposing data-based identity, future nature, and the relationship between humans and technology in various ways.
