About the Exhibition
Titled Body, Under Experiment, this exhibition explores various forms of 'body' beyond the human physical form. It addresses the reconstruction of bodily sensation, hybrid bodies fused with machines, and bodies reassembled from human shadow, showing an experimental approach that goes beyond conventional notions of the body. The exhibition is organized into three separate laboratories, each opening in sequence one per month, allowing visitors to witness a process still underway. This structure presents the exhibition not as a finished result but as an ongoing experiment itself, emphasizing temporality and performative elements. The exhibition's main artists are Jung Geum-hyung, Kim Hoon-da, and Kwon Byungjun. Each artist explores the relationship between humans and technology, sensation and body, through independent work in their own laboratory. In particular, Jung Geum-hyung's 'Studio/Storage' presents a space crossing the boundary between experiment and memory through disassembled robots, anatomical models, and reused parts, while Kim Hoon-da's 'Fine-Tuning Human Sense 2.1' explores new sensation through the fusion of technology and body. Rather than a simple exhibition, it strengthens interaction with visitors through a performative structure centered on time and experimentation.
