About the Exhibition

The Amorepacific Museum of Art presents the contemporary art collection special exhibition 'APMA, CHAPTER FIVE - FROM THE APMA COLLECTION.' Spanning seven galleries, the exhibition presents roughly 80 paintings, photographs, sculptures, and installation works by about 40 Korean and international artists. It offers a concentrated view of the museum's collecting and research achievements, built through its ongoing, phased presentation of a collection spanning traditional Korean art and contemporary world art. The exhibition unfolds around three axes: the formal language of contemporary art shaped within differing cultural and historical contexts, the currents of international contemporary art and continuity across generations, and the distinctive context and transitions of Korean contemporary art. Nam June Paik's 'KON-TIKI' is a particular highlight. Hours are 10:30 AM–12:30 PM and 1:30 PM–5:40 PM, with operations paused from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.
