The moment you push open the door, a scent of mingled iron and gold seems to sweep through the air. The shadows of bronze sculptures flow across the floor in unbroken lines, and an air so quiet it can almost be felt at one's fingertips envelops the traces of the works. This is a place where time itself is cast, seeming to preserve intact the process by which a single sculpted form comes into being. Visitors follow the traces left by casters a thousand years ago, as if tracing the touch of a hand from the past. The backs of the sculptures carry a weight as though listening to an ancient voice, and anyone passing through this space ultimately feels drawn into the casting process itself.
