About
The Yuki Museum of Art opened in 1987, built around the art and craft collection of Yuki Teiichi (1901–1997), founder of the Japanese restaurant Kitcho. It stands in Hiranomachi, Chuo Ward, Osaka, about a five-minute walk from Yodoyabashi Station on the Osaka Metro. The collection centers on utensils used in the tea ceremony and includes thirteen Important Cultural Properties and three Important Art Objects. The museum is run by the public interest incorporated foundation Yuki Museum of Art and holds three to four special exhibitions a year. It is open 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with entry until 4:00, and closes on Mondays (or the following day if Monday is a holiday) as well as during exhibition changeovers. Admission is 700 yen for adults and 400 yen for university students.
