An art museum in Jongno-gu, South Korea.
About
The moment you push open the door, wooden door posts holding a bachelor's dignity and faded dancheong colors greet you with quiet composure. Harmonious curves formed by iron frames and wood divide the space, as sunlight pours in along the old lattice windows. Light seeping beneath the mountain-shaped roof of Noan-dang illuminates the layered pavilions as though moss had settled over them, and on the quiet terrace of Iro-dang, the years gone by seep in with a cold hush. Here, the space where Emperor Gojong once resided remains intact, letting visitors subtly sense the traces of a nation's fate passing through. This architecture, which never lost its stillness even amid the turbulent flow of history, embraces visitors as quietly as the heart of a sleeping king.
