Natural light flowing beneath the high ceiling settles down along the traces of concrete and stone. This is a space where the breath of the Renaissance still lives on, and the touch of Andrea Palladio still cuts through the air. Behind the stage, a scene unfolds as if the myths of ancient Greece burst noisily into view, and the audience feels as though sinking into the play itself. This space, completed by Vincenzo Scamozzi, makes you forget time, and the lines of Oedipus Rex still cut through the air.
