An art museum in Anpachi, Japan.
About
Once, there was a peaceful settlement here where sunlight flowed over sand, but now a structure born of steel has taken up the sun's flow, draped beneath an enormous glass dome. The building's pillars rotate slowly, like the turning of the earth, and the light within gives the feeling of moving along with time itself. As sunlight brushes across the indigo-tinted glass, on one side, masterpieces of Impressionism seem to lie asleep in the dark, while on the other, the touch of ancient Egyptian relics seems to stir in the wind. Beneath the vast hemispherical dome, sculptures no one expected stand as though asleep amid the movement of light. This space, crossing the boundary between darkness and light, lets visitors pass through any era at all.
