The delicate Norman-style timber structure still remains intact, and the building holds a stillness reminiscent of an explorer's heart set on Japan a century ago. Climbing the tiered wooden staircase, the light falling from above evokes a warmth as if seeping through the windows of that era. On one wall of the exhibition hall, maps and botanical specimens recording Japan's nature and culture sit side by side, turning this space into not merely a gallery but a tunnel through time connecting past and present. Amid the faint scent of wood, visitors trace the gaze of an explorer who once lived on this land, coming face to face with the landscapes of Japan. The building itself is an exhibit, and every object within it carries on the voice of his passion.
