About
Built on the site of an old farm, this building centers on a central pavilion where the clock of the glassworks still remains, with the touch of craftsmen carried on along its long wings. Thanks to the patronage of Louis XV's queen and his mistress, rich design and refined technique accumulated over time to become today's Sèvres porcelain. Traces of endless carving, gilding, and painting seem to seep between the old walls, delivering a quiet eloquence. Amid a backdrop where the light of white cloth seems to flow, a red-striped cold-storage cabinet and a blue basin sit in stillness. The material beneath one's fingertips always feels warm, as though past and present linger together in mingled time.
