What came into view at the end of the bridge was an exterior where balanced concrete and stonework came together in harmony, set against an exotic backdrop. Amid air that seemed to mingle the weight of an old, private legacy with the suppressed brightness of the Japanese colonial era, walking along a path where an ever more fleeting garden unfolded, I suddenly felt that this was a place that made you forget time. This museum holds a wordless stillness, as if the sculptures and the sentiment of the garden had blended together. Visitors seem to inherit, just as it was, the sentiment that Impressionist painters once felt gazing silently upon the garden. This is not simply a space where nature and art coexist, but a place full of the traces of long years, one that took its present form through several reconstructions and sacrifices of the past.
