Not a panoramic window, but the building's exterior — with its loose columns and rounded corners gently guiding the way — carries a quiet voice like an old notebook being opened. The moment you step inside the building, light descending along the staircase conveys the bidirectionality of the space, born from Louis Sauvageot's architecture. The air here carries a hint of Impressionism's lingering afterglow, with a slight emptiness akin to walking across the sand dunes in a Corot painting. In the painting corner of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen, the dark tones of Eugène Carrière and the sharp balance of light in Caillebotte's work continue on, matching the breathing of those who walk slowly to admire them. The solitary, veiled space of the central hall, much like Degas' abstract movement, has painted lines that gently guide visitors' footsteps.
