Walking along a narrow alley in Hampstead, London, there is a house whose old granite walls and reddish-brown roof catch the eye. The approach to that house unfolds slowly and quietly, as if uncovering some hidden identity. Opening the door that leads into the ground-floor hall, one finds an armchair salvaged from the streets of Vienna still standing there, making it clear that this is not merely an exhibition space but a space of the mind. As shadow and sunlight slowly move across the room, the heart grows lighter, as if following the path of Freud's thought and psychoanalysis. Like the figures in the photographs hung on the walls, visitors too seem to find themselves exploring their own selves within this house.
