About

Built as the summer residence of the old Bavarian royal house, this building was originally an Italian-style villa but gradually transformed into a palace. Between the outbuildings that unfold along its vast garden and grand canal, the sound of time flowing can be heard. In the Gallery of Beauties, the portraits painted by Stieler still hang as if waiting for their subjects to return. Within the gaze of the women in those paintings remain, intact, the traces of a love a king once had. Pagodenburg, one of the palace's pavilions, is filled with Chinoiserie ornamentation, carrying an exotic atmosphere.
