About

As the old streets of Kurume gradually fade, following a back alley you eventually reach a place where the scenery changes. Beneath the low roof of a building made of concrete and wood, a signboard with lettering as thin as a book's pages catches the eye. Stepping inside, the cover of a picture book hanging on one wall receives a soft sunlight, as though slowly dissolving out of the darkness. On the cover of Hyde and Me, two faces face one another, yet the image lies open as though hiding a child's smile on its reverse side. The identity and fragmentation within the image, the flow of the unconscious, lightly brushes through the air of the museum. The moment visitors' gaze touches it, they feel themselves drawn into the image, and take a few more steps following the museum's quiet, low breeze.
