As ominous raindrops wet the streets of Hampstead in London, the terracotta walls of Kenwood House quietly catch and shine with sunlight. Beneath a dark ceiling, light seeps in and flows faintly over Vermeer's The Guitar Player. Passing through the classical halls, there are paintings that gaze at the visitor with eyes as still as candlelight.
