About
The Cup Noodles Museum Osaka Ikeda opened on November 21, 1999, in Ikeda, Osaka Prefecture — the city where Momofuku Ando, founder of Nissin Foods, developed the world's first instant noodle, Chikin Ramen, released on August 25, 1958. On September 15, 2017, the facility was renamed the Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Invention Museum Osaka Ikeda, unifying its name with its sister institution in Yokohama; its popular nickname is Cup Noodles Museum Osaka Ikeda. The museum features the 'Chicken Ramen Story' exhibit, a faithful recreation of the research shed in the backyard of Ando's home where he developed the noodle, along with the 'My Cup Noodles Factory,' where visitors can create their own original cup noodle, and the 'Instant Ramen Tunnel,' which traces the noodle's evolution through roughly 800 packaging designs.
