An ancient Roman city

About

Once, long ago, the eruption of Mount Vesuvius stopped time for a city. The walls, streets, and houses of that city still guard their shadows within the earth today. Stone-built walls still receive the wind, rising to a height that seems to gaze up at the night sky. In places once covered by burning heat and ash, an unfamiliar stillness sleeps as if waiting for the first footsteps to tread here. Sculptures and murals that let you guess at the life once lived here awaken the visitor's imagination from within the earth. This city looks like a being that never escaped the loop of time, as if curled up and still asleep.
