The hall of Haus der Kunst is a space with a weight to it, as if light flows along the ceiling. Designed by Paul Ludwig Troost, the building takes on a stark form bearing the identity of the Nazi era, and the moment one steps inside, time seems to stop. Walking through the galleries, the solemnity of neoclassical architecture and the power of art seem to coexist. This is not simply an exhibition space but one that is becoming a space of the spirit where past and present intersect.
