The exterior, finished in white stone, holds both the quiet of an old house and the sharpness of contemporary art. Climbing the stairs, the moment you step into the high-ceilinged hall, the structure designed by architect Watanabe comes into view. Light seeping through the glass ceiling window subtly elevates the mood of the still-life paintings and the works by Andre Ser Le Mayo hanging on the walls. Among the collection, Yayoi Kusama's repetitive colors and Yasumasa Morimura's metaphorical imagery stand out. The tight space, if anything, makes visitors focus their attention more closely on the works. This building casts a metaphor as if it holds the passage of past time within it, prompting reflection on the art of today.
