About
The National Maritime Museum stands on land where the meeting of sea and humankind first began. Here, where footsteps continue toward the ocean, a wind moving along the fishermen's old timbers passes through the exhibition halls, seeming to release the breath of history that has drifted by. The laughter of children spilling out of the Children's Museum resonates through a scene wet as though with ocean waves. In the aquarium, marine creatures drift through flowing light, as if the very heart of the sea were shimmering. Rising floor upon floor, the sea unfolds here not as darkness, but as a world filled with hope and imagination. Everyone who crosses the boundary of the sea begins their own story anew in this place.
