The moment the door opens, a faint scent of wood cuts through the air to greet visitors. A skylight running the height of the ceiling softly diffuses natural light, and shadows seeming to cross the dim walls of the gallery slow the passage of time. On one wall, ancient Egyptian artifacts quietly meet the eye, while on another floor, landscapes from traditional Chinese painting stop visitors in their tracks. Walking through the gallery, one feels as though the fingertips might reach out to touch the scenery within the paintings.
