The curved structure enclosing the high ceiling feels like the hull of a ship unfurled toward the sea. The faint sound of waves heard while walking along the corridor feels as if ripples were seeping through the windows, taking one step further toward the sea. On the first floor, the forms of many ships are rendered in wood and metal, as if the spirits of exotic vessels have come to rest here. In the dim hall of the second floor, footage plays, and the spirit of the sea seems to enter the visitor's heart through sight and sound alike. The moment you leave the museum, the ground beneath your feet feels like the surface of the sea, and an unhurried walk toward Kobe's harbor follows naturally.
