An art museum in Japan.

About

The Kami City Yanase Takashi Memorial Hall opened on July 21, 1996 in Kahoku-cho, Kami City, Kochi Prefecture, the home region of Takashi Yanase, creator of Anpanman. Having seen Osamu Tezuka's memorial museum built only after the artist's death, Yanase funded the construction with his own money so that it would be completed in his lifetime, and served as honorary director. The complex consists of the Anpanman Museum, displaying tableau paintings and original picture-book illustrations, and the Poems and Marchen Picture Book Hall covering his poetry, comics and illustrations; a combined ticket admits visitors to both. Originally named the Kahoku Town Yanase Takashi Memorial Hall, it took its present name after the municipal merger of April 2006. It is open 9:30-17:00 and closed on Tuesdays.
