Walking along an alley through which London's wind once flowed from the western edge, a massive stone-built wall comes into view. Scattered light falling here and there brushes across the stone, offering the weight and stillness of an old structure. This is a gate that turns back the flow of time. The shadow of ancient Egypt seems to linger throughout the cool exhibition halls. Alongside the traces of the Rosetta Stone, relics touched by countless hands quietly breathe in a darkness reminiscent of the night sky. Visitors, walking between light and shadow, seem to draw near to the homecoming of a forgotten world.
