Walking along the old mountain path of Asuka Village, a silvery gleam like shot metal finally reaches the edge of a bright pavilion. In the exhibition space, which seems to hold the skeleton of a fallen village, traces of coins and paintings from ancient tombs speak up and repeat time. The ruins said to have been the residence of Soga no Umako seem to watch over an ancient breath asleep within the soil. In that tranquil atmosphere, the boundary between life and death flows quietly. This place does not merely show ruins; it conveys a sign that the presence of the past still remains upon this land.
