About

Built on the rising ground of a former trading port, this museum still preserves the path once traveled on iron wheels by merchants carrying their cargo. Among the statues, images of women with emphasized cleavage seem to flow between the landscape of the past and today's visitors. Traces of ancient Egyptian and Minoan civilizations sparkle in the light seeping through the glass windows, carrying visitors under a sun that shone thousands of years ago. Rather than dictating a single visual flow, the exhibition space here instead brings visitors' steps to a halt as they follow the flow of sculpture and culture. The treatment of cleavage became more than a matter of clothing, evolving into a visual language that crosses gender and time.
