It was originally built as the residence of the 1st Marquess. Passing through its front gate, a space unfolds where soft shadows flow across the floor and a long history breathes quietly. The view of the garden seen from the terrace feels like gazing upon a scene from the eighteenth century. The building's tranquil columns and staircases seem to hold time itself from flowing, and traces of unfamiliar footsteps seeped into every corner carry on the voices of the past. Before this building took on its role today, that space would have watched over the flight of prime ministers who shaped the fate of Britain.
