Yoyoi Kusama

About the Exhibition

This is a large-scale retrospective of Yayoi Kusama, one of the important artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, opening September 11, 2026, at the Stedelijk Museum. The exhibition explores Kusama's artistic journey and influence through work she has created over some 70 years. Major works include her signature Infinity Rooms and Pumpkin, allowing visitors to encounter her distinctive style and symbolic elements. The exhibition comprises about 100 works in total, helping visitors understand her artistic growth and historical context. In particular, an Infinity Room positioned midway through the exhibition is an immersive, experiential work that stands as the exhibition's highlight.
