About the Exhibition

This is the first major exhibition devoted to the drawing practice of Abstract Expressionist painter Willem de Kooning. Bringing together more than 200 works from around the world, it offers a comprehensive spotlight on his 70-year artistic journey. The exhibition shows the range of styles and themes de Kooning expressed through drawing, exploring his creative process and aesthetic inquiry in depth. It includes works from his early to late career, organized into three sections spanning multiple periods and styles. His signature drawings and experimental works in particular leave a strong impression on visitors.
