About the Exhibition

This exhibition presents work by Tomás Saraceno that imagines an ecological, social future by combining art, architecture, and science. It is organized around two major long-term research themes — 'Aerocene' and 'Arachnophilia' — and includes a new collaborative work made together with Red Atacama, an Indigenous community in the Salinas Grandes region of northern Argentina. Beginning from the strain lithium mining places on the region's water resources and the Indigenous community's struggle, this work extends artistic dialogue beyond the exhibition space. The exhibition consists of sculptures powered by air, environments where multiple species coexist, and spatial installations that induce new modes of attention, presenting 12 works in total. Through this exhibition, visitors can reconsider ways of coexistence between the human and non-human worlds and explore the ecological and social forces shaping the planet's energy transition. The 'Aerocene' and 'Arachnophilia' installations, along with the collaborative work with the Indigenous community, are the exhibition's main highlights.
