About the Exhibition

This exhibition explores how Tintoretto rendered the biblical Book of Genesis in painting. Curated by Roberta Battaglia and Cristiana Sburlino, it runs at the Gallerie dell'Accademia from February 11 to August 30, 2026. The exhibition is centered on Tintoretto's Genesis-related works, exploring his artistic vision and theological message. It includes one of Tintoretto's signature works, Cain and Abel (Caino e Abele), which shows his distinctive style and powerful emotional expression. Through Tintoretto's Genesis-related works, the exhibition offers an important opportunity to understand Renaissance-era art and theological thought.
