Land of chocolate sprinkles

About the Exhibition

This exhibition is the Congolese art collective CATPC's first exhibition in Amsterdam, titled 'Het Land van Hagelslag.' Running from May 22 to November 8, 2026, at the Hart Museum, it embodies an intent to build a new world through works reinterpreting Congolese culture and identity through a contemporary lens. The exhibition includes multimedia works fusing Congolese tradition with contemporary art, with works exploring local community and communal identity forming its core. It comprises about 30 works in total, each made using symbolic images and materials reflecting Congo's history and present. Through this exhibition, visitors can experience the originality and creativity of Congolese art, with work by artist Tomek Dersu Aaron drawing particular attention as a central piece of the exhibition.
