About the Exhibition

This exhibition presents the work of contemporary artists who reconstruct and create themselves through photography, drawing, and sculpture. Most of the artists work outside the traditional gallery and museum system, presenting cases where they define their own artistic identity. The works on view are drawn from the Richard and Ellen Sandor Family Collection, showing multiple directions in contemporary art. Featured artists include Martin Schongauer, Louise Bourgeois, Mark Rothko, and Rachel Kushner, each work themed on personal identity and self-exploration. The exhibition covers 14 contemporary artists, including works from the 1940s to the present.
