About the Exhibition

This exhibition explores the being and creative process of Madrid-born artist Blanca Sánchez Berciano (1948-2007), centered on her artistic practice. Titled Milk, Snow, Tear, Hand, the exhibition symbolically renders her life and art, emphasizing her methodology of constructing visual and conceptual reality through a collage practice grounded in Camp aesthetics. It addresses her 40-year artistic journey since she returned to Madrid under the Franco regime in 1971, shedding light on her activity through her collaborations with the Vandrés and Vijande galleries and the Círculo de Bellas Artes. The exhibition comprises about 30 works and documents, featuring a table-centered exhibition space reflecting her everyday, fluid creative process. Visitors can sense her artistic thought and emotion through her everyday objects and documents, and the exhibition's core is her view of high culture and popular culture not as opposites but as intersecting.
