About the Exhibition

This exhibition presents work by two masters of Western sculpture, Michelangelo and Auguste Rodin, both of whom took the body as their central subject, revealing the body as filled with inner vitality. It brings together, for the first time, works in which the two artists reveal the depth of the soul through the body, forming a dialogue across centuries. Organized into five sections, the exhibition includes plaster, marble, bronze, terracotta, and cast works alongside a rich array of paintings. It emphasizes the body as both a membrane enveloping the soul and a living presence enduring time and movement, exploring the historical use of sculpture and reinterpretations of movement. Through the two artists' work, visitors come to see sculpture anew — not merely as form-making but as a field of experimentation opening new artistic ground.
