About the Exhibition
Titled 'Making Their Mark: Works from the Shah Garg Collection,' this exhibition is centered on the personal collection of Indian-born collector Shah Garg. Its theme is to shed light on the creative identity of women artists and the mark they have left on art history. The main artists include India Ray, Linda Brown, and Maria Leiko, each signature work showing a distinctive visual language within the exhibition space. Spanning from the mid-20th century to today, the exhibition is an important opportunity to re-illuminate the artistic contributions women artists have made. It comprises 40 works in total, organized into four sections, allowing visitors to systematically explore the role of women artists within an art-historical context. Visitors can directly feel the emotion and thought of women artists especially through signature works such as India Ray's Woman in Shadow and Linda Brown's The Flow of Time.
