Gwangju Museum of Art Permanent Exhibition 《Yehyang, the vein of Namdo art》

About the Exhibition

This is a Gwangju Museum of Art collection exhibition introducing the tradition of Namdo art. Namdo has been an active ground for artists who left a distinct mark on Korean art history, and a hometown of the arts where fields such as Korean painting, Western-style painting, and sculpture flourished. It introduces and re-illuminates the first generation of Namdo artists, and examines Namdo art in its art-historical context through the works of second-generation artists built on the achievements of the first generation.
