About the Exhibition

This exhibition presents the work of multidisciplinary artists centered on those active in downtown New York. Now in its sixth edition, it marks MoMA PS1's 50th anniversary. Spanning every floor of MoMA PS1's historic school building, the exhibition features around 50 artists. It showcases work addressing pressing cultural issues of the present, exploring the power of urban life and strategies of resistance. In particular, it reflects major issues of contemporary society — surveillance, economic instability, technological change — through art. Highlights include locally produced installations and performances, and works that reflect the complex daily life and experience of the city.
