Great Women: Images in Russian Art

About the Exhibition

This exhibition sheds light on works of Russian art themed on women. It examines the image of women from multiple viewpoints and perspectives, exploring how the role and depiction of women in Russian art history have formed and changed. The main artists are Aleksy Belokrinskij and Evaira Pustynskaya, presenting works addressing women's identity and social status within Russian art history. The exhibition shows how the image of women has formed and been reinterpreted throughout the historical development of Russian art, offering a new interpretation and approach to Russian art history. It comprises 15 works in total, organized to reveal the many facets and identities of women. Visitors can encounter striking works reflecting the depth and complexity of Russian art as it relates to the image of women.
