About the Exhibition

This exhibition explores the artistic identity of Italian poet and artist Ottone Rosai. It sheds light on his creative process and inner world, in which he embedded his poetic sensibility within his artistic work. Major works include self-portraits and paintings of urban scenes he made while writing poetry, with works exploring his relationship to Florence's historic spaces forming the core. The exhibition includes 20 works in total, spanning the 1920s through the 1950s. Visitors have a chance to sense how his poetic gaze was reflected in his art, with his signature work Palazzo Vecchio (Self-Portrait with Palazzo Vecchio) especially notable — a work harmonizing his poetry and painting that offers deep insight into his artistic identity.
