About the Exhibition

This exhibition is themed on the fusion of everyday life and art in Vienna around 1900. It shows how everyday objects and artistic creations of the time came together into a single Gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art). Featured artists include Ursi Fürtler, Barbara Pflaum, Christoph Schlingensief, and Thomas Demand, each work crossing the boundary between the everyday and art. The exhibition includes around 100 works organized into several sections, helping visitors understand the cultural background of Vienna around 1900. The 'GLANZSTÜCKE' section in particular draws attention, pairing fine jewelry from Van Cleef & Arpels with key works from the MAK collection.
