About the Exhibition

This is a new installation in the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago, in which Margaret Honda reconstructs standard elements of filmmaking using sunlight, the existing architectural structure, and the presence of viewers. The exhibition reinterprets elements used in the filmmaking process as an artistic installation, offering a dynamic experience in which the work changes as viewers occupy the exhibition space. A solo exhibition by a single artist, it comprises one work, characterized by an experimental approach combining visual and spatial elements. The highlight is the installation itself, as sunlight streams into the exhibition space and shifts with the viewer's movement. The exhibition offers viewers a new visual experience through a creative endeavor that crosses the boundary between film and art.
