About the Exhibition

Seoul and Paris have already settled deep into each other's daily lives. This exhibition begins from that natural permeation. Now that it has become difficult to define what is 'Seoul-like' or 'Paris-like,' The Baguette from Seoul views that blurriness as a phenomenon in itself. It reveals, through the work of contemporary artists, the borderless sensibility created as the two cities imagine and absorb one another. The 15 participating artists, working across media such as painting, sculpture, and media art, belong fully to neither Seoul nor Paris while working from a sensibility rooted in both cities at once. Even placed side by side, their works cannot be told apart at a glance — and that is the culture of today.
