About the Exhibition

This exhibition is proposed by Vietnamese-born contemporary artist Danh Vo, offering a deep exploration of art, identity, memory, and ownership. The exhibition's title, 'πνεῦμα (Ἔλισσα),' means 'spirit' and 'bee' in Greek, and explores human emotion and historical wounds through art. Major works include sculpture, installation, and photography made by Danh Vo, notably including his signature work 'The New York Times.' The exhibition was held in 2023, presenting about 30 works in total, comprehensively showing Danh Vo's artistic exploration and the themes he addresses. Through Danh Vo's work, visitors have an opportunity to deeply reflect on individual and collective memory, identity, and the social role of art.
