Daegu Art Museum Educational Exhibition 《Even Cats Can See the King》

About the Exhibition

England has an old proverb, 'A cat may look at a king.' It refers to the equal freedom by which anyone can face even the highest and most exalted being with dignity. This exhibition adapts that proverb into a story, proposing freedom in the way we look at the world. In Chapter 1, 'A Walk in the City,' artist Kim Jae-kyung freely renders human and animal characters taller than an adult man using oil sticks, portraying people and animals wandering freely through the city. In Chapter 2, 'Garden of the Mind,' artist Park Hyung-jin paints tender moments of meeting the eyes of the small animals around us, and Chapter 3, 'Forest Cat Library,' is composed as a space of free contemplation for immersing oneself deeply in books and artworks.
